*Is my school closed due to COVID-19?*

Remember that if you are unwell with a temperature, cough or cold and flu symptoms, it’s important that you stay at home and practice social distancing.

Short answer

Schools are pupil free however are open to students who need to attend

Long answer

All ACT schools will be pupil free (i.e. you don’t have to go) until the school holidays, which start on Friday 10 April 2020.

Schools are still open to students who need to attend, for example, if your parents, carers or guardians are unable to stay at home with you, you can still go to school. You won’t be turned away if you want or need to go to school.

An update will be provided before the start of Term 2 which is due to commence on Tuesday 28 April.

What if I attend a private or independent school?

If you go to a private or independent school, they can make their own decisions about whether your school can stay open or not. We recommend that you contact your school directly and ask if they are open.
